7. To Not Have To Share Every Single Thing You Eat Or Drink
I don’t mind sharing, but sometimes I’d like my drink without toddler backwash in it, or perhaps that whole piece of chocolate cake I’ve been waiting all week to have on my cheat day. Or at least be able to say something isn’t “spicy” just so my kids won’t want some (or all) of what I’m eating when I finally get a chance to sit down and eat.
8. To Be Able To Sleep In
It doesn’t matter if you’re a mother to the biggest daddy’s girl on the face of the earth, when they wake up crying at 4:30AM, no one but Mommy will do. And that’s okay, but then you’re up for the remainder of the day when they fall peacefully back asleep at 6:30AM. Let the woman sleep, seriously.
9. NO CLEANING.
Aka, no laundry. It’s just for one day. Is that really too much to ask?
10. Thank You & A Hug
For all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears that is motherhood, we are still a simple lot. We love our jobs, no matter how challenging they can be. There’s nothing better than a “thank you mama, I love you” and a sweet hug. Merry Christmas!
