8. Teach the Difference Between Needs and Wants
The easiest way to get off the organizational track is to become buried in “stuff.” When you don’t know what to do with an item you end up making piles and getting a cluttered home. From a young age, you can teach your children about what they need versus want. There are times to buy thing that they want, but only when the time is right and you have room for it. Birthdays are notorious for getting toys you don’t need. It’s ok to tell guests “no gifts please” or ask for gift cards so that you can buy “needs.”
