10. Pick a Goal
Fall is filled with fun runs, charity walks and other active seasonal events. Not only are these fun social events, but they also make great goals for your workouts.
It’s hard to keep up with exercise for exercise’s sake, but if you’re working to beat your bestie in the next fun run, well, that’s a horse of a different color.
11. Invest in Self Care
Taking time for yourself usually takes a backseat to, oh, everything else. But what good is instituting 20 new diet and fitness routines if you’re routinely stressed and miserable?
Even if it’s only 15 minutes a day, schedule some uninterrupted “me” time. Indulge in your favorite pumpkin spiced food or beverage and just relax.
12. Volunteer
There are plenty of reasons you should volunteer, and your health is one of them. People who volunteer have lower mortality and depression rates than people who don’t give back. Find a way to get involved meeting a community need, whether that’s organizing donations, taking meals to shut-ins or visiting residents at a local nursing home.
Of course, these are all just jumping-off points. Use them to inspire your own fall fun, healthy habit fusions!
