The imaginations of children are infinite and vast. Children have a way of taking even the simplest thing and turning it into a complex adventure. It’s part of what I love about children. Watching mine evolve and create their own little worlds fascinates me. As parents, we have the privilege of joining our little ones on their imaginative journeys. So take some time to learn more about your children’s imaginations by teaming up with them on an adventure. Here are some super fun ideas!

1. Build an Indoor Fort
One thing I loved doing as a kid was building forts inside my house. I remember my little brother and I would pile up the couch cushions, pillows and blankets and hide out inside with our little glow worm toys. You can get really creative with your fort building, and your child will absolutely love having you as a “camping buddy.” Check out our list of 10 Awesome Fort Ideas To Build With Your Kids!
If you want to find more ways to have fort fun, Ziploc has a really great indoor camping party guide on their website that you should check out.
2. Run Around in the Rain
There’s something about rain and puddles that gets kids really excited. My little guy loves splashing around in his rain boots. Inside of staying cooped up inside on a rainy day, why not make an adventure out of it and run around outside with your kids? Seeing mom or dad soaking wet and acting silly will definitely make your little one smile!
3. Make Snow Angels
When you’re snowed in and starting to get cabin fever, pile on those winter clothes and teach your kids how to make snow angels. Just know that once they realize how fun it is to make them, they’ll probably want to do it all day long. But hey, it’s not like you have anything better to do on snow days, right?
