10. Have a Dance Party
One of the easiest ways for you and your children to get some exercise in is by dancing around. Kids love to dance, and with the amount of songs that are likely to play in your house everyday, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get down. You can shake it in the living room while watching television, or go in the backyard and run around. Anywhere you and your kids have room to move and music to groove to, you can have a little dance party!
11. Jump Into A Pile Of Leaves
You know what one of the best things about fall is? The millions of leaves everywhere. The more leaves there are, the higher the pile you can make. And your kids will definitely have fun jumping into that massive, crunchy pile. But of course, they’ll want you to jump too, so make sure there are enough leaves to break your fall (no pun intended).
12. Make Messy Art
If your house looks anything like mine, you can tell that children love to make messes. And if they’re going to do that, they might as well make something useful from it, right? Messy art is great because kids can express themselves, get messy and enjoy rule-free play for awhile. Just make sure you emphasize that messy art should only be done when mommy or daddy is there to help. (Or don’t, if you enjoy the look of paint splattered carpet and sharpie colored walls.)

13. Catch Lightning Bugs
Where we live, lightning bugs love to come out at night. And my little guy loves chasing them. It’s pretty cool to watch them light up and see how many you can catch. Grab a mason jar if you want to bring them inside and watch them light up your living room. Or use your hands and see who can catch the most!
