6. Perishables go first
When planning out your week, be sure to put meals with extremely perishable items first. For example, make your chicken casserole on a Monday, way before your penne pasta. Your dry macaroni will still be good long after that chicken gets stinky. Resist the urge to buy a lot of fresh produce in one big shopping trip, as it could go bad before you get to it. Don’t be afraid of buying frozen vegetables, as they are always frozen at their peak freshness and just as good for you!
