Perhaps you’re waiting to find out the sex of your baby until they actually arrive, you’re expecting twins of each sex, or maybe you simply want to decorate your nursery in a neutral way so you can use it for more than one child. Either way, you’re going to want to use colors and decorations that can be used for both a boy and a girl. You don’t want anything too pink, too blue, too fluffy or too manly looking. It has to have the perfect combination of bold, fun decor with feminine touches. However, this does not mean that you have to go with the typical yellow or soft green color schemes. There are so many other gender neutral options out there that will create an amazingly beautiful room. In fact, we’ve found 9 great gender neutral nurseries to help inspire you as you decorate your little one’s nursery.

1. White Wonder

If you want to go the neutral route, of course you can always choose neutral colors such as white and soft tan. This creates a beautiful palette that’s pleasing and soft on the eye. It’s perfect for the family that doesn’t like bold colors or crazy decorations. It’s simple, yet beautiful and can easily be used for either a boy or a girl.

2. Mid Century Inspired

If you want to keep your baby’s nursery a little more sophisticated that keeps with the design scheme of the rest of the house, you can opt for a mid century inspired room. I love this room because there’s nothing about it that screams “child’s room,” but it’s still beautiful and incredibly functional as a nursery. It’s not too over decorated, but not so simple that it’s boring. A perfect room, if you ask me!

3. Adventure Nursery

One nursery theme that has become increasingly popular over the last few years is an “adventure” theme. It’s kind of a mix between outdoors, animals, camping, etc. I love that natural, raw, organic look of it and it creates the perfect theme for either a boy or girl. It’s not really gender specific and you can use so many different colors for it. Throw in some animal decor, some feathers, some tribal print, a fake fur rug and you’re good to go.
