There are lots of personal styling services out there that let you rent clothing or subscribe to fashion-forward boxes on a monthly basis. One of our favorites is LeTote, which I was thrilled to partner with and experience for myself! I’d never used a clothing rental service before, and I got to see what all the hype is about.
The way it works with Le Tote is that you sign up on the website and fill out a profile with your measurements and style preferences for clothing and accessories. This is so that they can send you clothing with the best fit for you. Then you choose from three different options:
- a $39 per month box, which gets you 3 pieces of clothing
- a $59 per month box, which gets you 3 pieces of clothing + 2 accessories
- a $59 per month box, which gets you 5 pieces of clothing
I went with the 3 pieces of clothing + 2 accessories option because I like the idea of variety. Based on the style profile that you set up, Le Tote will put together a box of items that they think you’ll love. You can review the items and swap out any that you aren’t that interested in. With my tote, I swapped out a couple of the items, but was happy with the other selections that Le Tote chose for me. Here are the pieces that were included in my first box, and how I styled them:
Scallop Trim Mock Neck Top
This Vince Camuto top was chosen by Le Tote, and I loved it! The green color is great on my skin tone, and is also seasonally on point. The fit was just right, and I was able to wear it with pieces I already had in my closet. I decided to tuck it into a denim skirt that I have, and paired it with black footless tights and a tall pair of black open-toe heels.
Chevron Woven Bag
The colorful bag that I’m holding was one that I selected, because I thought it would go great with the green top. The Jessica McClintcock find added the perfect amount of print and color to liven up my outfit. It can be used as a clutch, or has a chain strap that you can use to wear it on your shoulder.
Chunky Knit Pullover
What made me choose this Philosophy sweater was the color (it’s great on an Autumn like me), and the fact that it’s just right for the brisk fall weather. I was going for a Bohemian look with this outfit, so I wore it over a long sleeved, ivory tee and paired with a rust colored maxi skirt. I loved the versatility of this piece, and it was sooo cozy and warm!
Button Tassel Earrings
To go with the chunky sweater, I selected this pair of Noir Luxe earrings. The gold tone went really well with the color of the sweater, and I liked how the earrings were simple, yet dressy. Even though I wore them with the sweater I got from Le Tote, they definitely could have been worn with other pieces I already own.
Floral Bomber Jacket
When I saw this Noir jacket, I knew I had to try it! I recently got a floral print pair of jeggings, so I thought the two pieces would be awesome together. I also loved the colors of the jacket, and the fit was great too. I completed the look with a matching bag and pair of wedge sandals.
My experience using Le Tote was great! You can rent the pieces for as long as you want, and can also purchase them if you can’t live without them in your wardrobe. Your online account shows how much it will cost you to purchase the items (both individually & as an entire tote), and if you buy everything in your box, you get one month FREE! With each purchase, you earn credit that can be applied to any items you choose to keep from your tote, or buy from the website. You get an unlimited amount of totes per month, which is great if you’re constantly updating your closet, or making lots of appearances at parties or other social events that require new attire. I’m currently waiting for my next tote to arrive, and I received a text message literally minutes after my mailman picked up the last one, letting me know this one is ready to customize. Le Tote is on top of things!
Oh, and there is a maternity box option for women who don’t want to splurge on a whole new wardrobe during pregnancy, but who still need maternity clothes for the time that their regular ones don’t fit. I wish I had known about this while I was pregnant!
