A person with a disability does not have to live a life that is destined to be different from everyone else. Rising Tide car wash in Parkland, Florida is like any other ordinary car wash, but with with something special. Of the 43 employees, 35 of them are autistic men. The owner and his son have decided to give men over the age of 22 a way to change the perception about themselves, and the perception that others have of autism in their community. According to the owner, his employees are excellent because they are able to do structured tasks effectively and receive positive reinforcement. It’s so amazing how one brother and father wanted to make a difference, and they are impacting tons of men! Now that’s really teaching a person how to catch fish! It would be great to see more companies adopt a business model that helped our entire community like this one does!
