10. Bathtub
Anything involving water and your children requires ultimate supervision. Never, ever leave your child unattended in tub. Teach safety by limiting standing to avoid slips, and purchase an anti-slip mat to keep on the bottom of the tub. You can buy inexpensive spout covers to help cushion the faucet against accidental head bumping, and some even have an added thermometer to help guard against scalding water! It seems like a no brainer, but keep all electrical items like radios and hair dryers as far away from the tub as possible. Try not to fill the tub up too high so your kids have more traction and are less likely to tip and slip.
Even though baby proofing is hard work, it’s something you can do yourself. You don’t need to hire a fancy or expensive baby proofing company to keep your family safe!
