4. Drawers
Drawers post a number of risks for your children. First, they can easily pull them out and be injured by the actual drawer, or push them in and pinch a finger or hand. Open drawers can upset the balance of the piece of furniture they are in, making the item more likely to tip and fall on your child. They can also contain adult items or dangerous things like knives. Drawers are not toys and you probably shouldn’t let your kids climb into them to play! They are easy to baby proof using plastic cabinet baby locks, magnetic locks or even using a tension rod that you can thread through all the drawer handles. No matter how you do it, just make sure your child can’t get the drawer open and will stay safe!
