13. Temporal Thermometer
There are lots of thermometers for babies on the market, and trust me, I would know. I bought a few of them because one after the other didn’t work well. At first, I had the normal one you put in the baby’s mouth. Do you know how impossible it is to keep a thermometer in a baby’s mouth? It’s definitely not possible. Then, I bought an ear thermometer, which was also difficult to use because I couldn’t keep my baby’s head still long enough to get a reading. Then I bought one that was just like a pacifier, but had a built in thermometer. At first, my son didn’t mind this one and I could actually get a reading, then after a few uses, he hated it because it didn’t feel like his normal pacifiers. This was all so frustrating because when you’re concerned that your baby has a fever, you want to be sure before you run into the doctors office or before you start giving your baby medicine for nothing. I ended up buying a temporal thermometer and even though it was expensive it has been the best purchase. It’s extremely quick and easy to use and is perfect for kiddos that never stop moving.

14. Nursing Cover
I never purchased a nursing cover before I had my son because I figured I could just use a blanket like all the other moms I had seen nursing. Well, it turns out those were probably expert nursing moms that have been doing it for a long time. As a first time nursing mom it is really hard to nurse in public using a blanket. The baby moves a lot, which makes the blanket move a lot, and then you feel exposed and uncomfortable. Once I bought a nursing cover I was able to nurse in public so much easier and so much more comfortably.

15. Nursing Pillow
Look, breastfeeding is hard. It takes a while to get used to and it takes a toll on your body. Many moms will probably tell you that you don’t technically “need” a nursing pillow, but I used mine every single time I nursed at home. It helps support your baby so that you can bring your baby to your breast instead of bringing your breast to your baby and hunching over in uncomfortable positions. I noticed that when I didn’t use my nursing pillow that I ended up having a lot of back and arm pain because it’s hard to hold a baby in a nursing positions for long periods of time.
