7. Orange & Turquoise Travel Theme
If you still want to use color, but don’t want to go too crazy, try choosing some bold, fun colors like orange and turquoise. Neither of these colors are necessarily gender specific and they are so pretty to look at together. They create a beautiful color scheme that can go with many themes like travel, animals, outdoors, and so much more.

8. Black & White
There’s no design rule saying that you have to use any kind of color in a room. In fact, you can do a whole room in black and white with very limited colors and it can still look beautiful, just like this nursery. The patterns go so perfectly with the color scheme and it’s completely gender neutral. You could never tell if this was a boy’s or girl’s nursery by looking at this photo.

9. Soft Elegance
If you still want color, but want something a little more soft and refined, try using some muted, toned down colors. That would mean more pastel-type colors like soft blues and greens, and even some soft oranges and corals. Nothing too bright. These softer colors create a beautiful, elegant room that can easily be used for a boy or girl. Even the decorations and accessories are gender neutral and add a lot of interest and flare to the room.
