As a mom, the morning can be one of the most stressful parts of our day. We’re busy getting our kids fed, dressed, and out the door, leaving us moms hardly more than 5 minutes to put on some decent clothes, let alone do our hair. As a result, our hair tends to end up in a ponytail without much thought given to it. However, maybe our poor hair doesn’t have to suffer anymore. Doing our hair doesn’t mean it has to take very long. In fact, it could take less than 5 minutes to create a cute look on top of that beautiful head. If you’re in the usual ponytail rut, try some of these fast, yet cute quick hairstyles for busy moms:

1. The Famous Top Knot
The top knot is honestly one of the easiest hair dos I have ever done and even though it only takes about 1 minute to do, it still looks professional and sophisticated. The best part is that even if it turns out a little messed up, that’s ok because the top knot is supposed to look messy. It’s not meant to be sleek and perfect.

2. The Knotted Up Do
If you know how to tie a simple knot, I guarantee you can do this hairstyle. All you do is start at the crown of your head with two strands of hair and tie it in a knot. Then grab some more hair a little lower, add it to the hair from the previous knot, and tie another knot. Keep repeating this as you work your way down your head. When you reach the bottom, just pin your hair at the bottom. Its a simple hair style that looks much more complicated than it is.

3. The Romantic Headband Roll
I absolutely love this hair style. It is one of my favorites and every time I do it I get so many complements. People always say it looks like princess hair. To achieve this princess look, separate a few inches of hair in the front of your head around your temples. Then put a stretchy headband behind this section, then over the top of the rest of your hair. Start taking taking 1 inch sections of hair starting at the very front, twist it away from your face and tuck underneath the headband. Continue doing this as you wrap all the way around to the bottom of your neck. Secure the hair with bobby pins then finish off with some hair spray.

4. No Heat Headband Curls
One of the best parts about doing the romantic headband roll is that if you leave it in overnight then take the headband out when you wake up, you will have really pretty curls. It’s almost too easy to believe. You get 2 hairstyles for the effort of one. Sometimes you might have a few pieces that aren’t curled as much as the others, but you can fix it with a use of your curling iron.

5. Extra Long Ponytail
If you still love the easiness of the pony tail, why not continue to do it, but with a little more umph? A great illusion to make really long ponytail is to actually divide your hair in two and put one pony tail high, and then do one lower. This will give the illusion that your hair is really long and not only will it be just as easy as doing a regular ponytail, it will look more stunning.

6. The Braided Bun
This hairstyle is so easy that I can’t believe I have never done it myself. Divide your hair into two sides. Do a simple braid on each side. After the braids have been secured with a hair tie, take the two braids and wrap them around each other to form a low bun. Secure with bobby pins and you’ve got a sophisticated looking bun.

7. Fancy Bobby Pins
We always use bobby pins to pin our hair back, so why not add some interesting looks with those bobby pins? Simply take some hair from around one side of your face and pin it half up in the back. Then do the same to the other side. When you pin this side, angle the bobby pin so it makes a nice point with the other bobby pin. Then just take one last bobby pin and pin it across the hair below the other 2 to create a triangle. Super easy, yet creative and fun.

8. Half Crown Braid
Braided hair always looks so beautiful and even though it looks complicated, it doesn’t have to be hard to achieve that look. This half crown braid is very simple, but looks so pretty. Section off the front part of your hair on each side of your head. Braid each side and bring it towards the back of your head, secure with a hair tie, then repeat on the other side. Take one of the braids and bring it across the back of your head to where the other braid starts and pin in place. Do the same with the other braid.

9. The Elegant Half Up
Having fancy hair doesn’t always mean it has to take a lot of time. This hairstyle looks so elegant, however you’ll be surprised at how easy it is. Take a section of hair around the crown of your head and pin it half up. Then take little sections from each side of your head near the front and cross it over in the back, then pin. Keep doing this until you have reached your desired look. Shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes and when you’re done you’ll be ready to hit the town.
