It’s that time of year again when outside looks like a frozen Siberia and your kids are “bored to death” waiting for spring. Have no fear, winter fun is here! There are plenty of fun things for kids of all ages to engage in; some things can be done on their own, others need mom or dads participation. Here are a few ideas to kick off some fun, be creative and enjoy each others company without breaking the bank on museums and extracurricular activities.
1. Tie Dye Snow (Food Coloring)
Have an empty spray bottle, squirt gun or shampoo container and fill with some water, a very small amount of dish soap or vinegar to prevent it from icing, and a small amount of food coloring (a little bit goes along way). Kids will love being able to color in the snowy environment as their endless canvas.
2. Homemade Outdoor Popsicles
This of course depends on how cold it really is outside but take some juice or make a smoothie and put it in an ice cube tray or Popsicle molds and leave outside. (Somewhere animals will not get to it)! Easy and free entertainment!
3. Warm Fort
Throw some blankets in the dryer for about 10 minutes, when you pull them out quickly build a fort and pile in, it will be so warm and cozy ! Kids love the opportunity to mess up the house!
