4. Aloe
Pure aloe is the most effective when it comes to relieving sunburn. It’s smart to have a small aloe plant in your home, where you can simply break off a piece and apply the natural aloe to your burn. You can also purchase pure aloe at most drugstores. Stay away from aloe vera gel, which has added ingredients and can sometimes further dry out your skin.
5. Oatmeal
Aveeno was on to something when it started making oatmeal based products. If you don’t have any on hand, or want to go even more natural, you can use regular oatmeal on your stinging skin. You can grind up in a food processor and add to a tepid bath, cook as normal and then apply cooled oatmeal to the skin, or even just wrap dry oatmeal in a cheesecloth, run water through and then use the liquid as a salve.
6. Vinegar
Vinegar is a natural astringent and will help draw out inflammation from your sunburned skin. You can use white vinegar or apple cider in a cool bath or apply on a washcloth, then rest on your skin. It will help relieve the stinging sensation that only a sunburn can bring.
