My favorite Christmas movie is Elf. It’s so funny, but also has a heartwarming story line. As a person with a degree in music, I especially love the idea that “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” But there’s another way to spread Christmas cheer too. With an elf craft! If your kids aren’t old enough to watch the movie Elf, you can introduce them to the funny character by crafting with them.
Here are just a few fun projects for spreading holiday cheer in the form of pointy ears and boots with bells on the toes.

1. Popsicle Stick Elf
With just a handful of craft supplies, your little one can enjoy putting together a popsicle stick elf that will look adorable wherever he’s put on display. Maybe you could even use this guy to spread some Christmas cheer, instead of that creepy Elf on the Shelf!

2. Pine Cone Elves
Look at all the pretty colors! What a fun way to incorporate seasonal textures and festive elements into one craft. Get your kids out in nature to collect pine cones, and then take them inside to put together adorable little elves. I bet you could bend their legs and sit them on the branches of the Christmas tree. Or the fireplace mantel. Or the dashboard inside your car. Ooh, so fun!

3. Paper Plate Elf
Who doesn’t love a good paper plate craft? It’s probably the easiest type of craft there is! But if you aren’t sold on the idea, maybe you’ll like it after hearing that the other materials used are paint, jingle bells and pom poms. Now those are some fun items to craft with!

Oh. My. Gosh. These are so much fun! They would add a whimsical, colorful, playful vibe to your Christmas tree, that’s for sure! You could even make bigger versions of them and hang them instead of traditional stockings. Totally cute, right?

6. Elf Hat
This is probably the easiest craft you’ll ever do. You basically just form a piece of construction paper into a cone, wrap a ribbon around it and glue it together. Of course, you can decorate the hat with fun embellishments if your kids want to get really festive. That’s why this craft is great- you can personalize it to make it more fun!

7. Toilet Paper Roll Elves
Don’t toss those empty toilet paper rolls! Turn them into cute elves for Christmas. Even smaller children can decorate these with a little supervision. And they’re cute enough to display just about anywhere in your home! Just be careful displaying them around the fireplace, or Santa might not be the only one coming through the chimney…
