Where I live, it gets mighty hot in the summer. Like, put the fan on high and cover me in ice cubes because my cleavage is sweating hot. This makes hitting the water in the summer something I look forward to. 1. Swimsuit
It might seem a bit cliche, but any kid who loves the water will be happy with a new swimsuit. In fact, kids who are in the water a lot should have multiple pieces of swimwear, since they get worn, torn and dirty so often.

2. Surfboard
It’s never too early to teach your little beach bum how to surf, right? He’ll need a surfboard to do that, so find one that’s just right for him, and he’ll master the waves in no time. Of course he’ll need a good teacher, so maybe you can treat yourself to a new board too!
3. Water Gun
Technically, any child can enjoy a water gun, not just water-holics. It’s a fun toy for summer play, and it keeps kids cool. If your child is going to spend most of the summer near the water, a water gun is going to keep them entertained. Just watch your back…or else get yourself one too.
4. Bucket

5. Wetsuit
Kids who surf, and even some who swim, wear a wetsuit instead of a swimsuit. Like most swimwear, having more than one wetsuit is not a bad idea. You can find ones that keep kids comfortable and protect against harmful UV rays.

6. Goggles
When my son goes swimming, he insists on wearing his goggles (for awhile, he called them “gobbles,” and it was so cute). When children are first learning how to swim, goggles can make them feel more comfortable going underwater. Plus, kids in goggles look adorable, don’t you think? Any kid who loves to swim will love getting a new pair of gobbles goggles.
7. Flippers
Even if they aren’t going snorkeling, your kid will be stoked to swim around in flippers! My little dude has lots of fun with them in the water, and I’m sure most kids who swim love pretending to be a fish. Of course, if your child is going snorkeling this summer, flippers should definitely be packed in his bag.

8. Underwater Camera
When I was a kid (many moons ago), I loved taking pictures underwater. My friends and I would jump in and make funny faces, capturing the moments on film. I think I still have hard copies of those photos! This summer, your kid will absolutely love going selfie crazy with an underwater camera.
