Breastfeeding is something that you’ll never truly understand how amazing (yet how difficult) it can be until you’ve experienced it yourself. It’s one of the greatest blessings you’ll ever have as a mother, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come with it’s own struggles. Whether you’re a first time mom doing it for the first time ever, or you’re an experienced mom that’s been around the block a few times, there are always some things that will make you chuckle, cry, or want to pull your hair out. Here are 7 memes about breastfeeding that will totally make you laugh because they’re so true that it’s almost sad.
1. Wardrobe Decisions
This is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to breastfeeding. I really do love nursing, but I hate that I can’t wear almost half of my wardrobe while nursing because my baby can’t access my breasts while wearing them. That means that so many dresses and shirts that I love can’t be worn for months after I already haven’t been able to wear them for a long enough time already from my pregnant belly.

2. Go Go Gadget
When I read this meme I totally laughed out loud because feeling your breasts let down is one of the strangest things you’ll ever experience. It really does feel like you’re some sort of magician. I mean seriously, how do your breasts know that a crying baby means feeding time? It’s craziness.

3. New Found Exhibitionist
Let’s be honest, being a busy mom taking care of a small baby can take up much of your time and your mind! They say pregnancy brain is bad, but after I had my son I found that “mom” brain was way worse. That meant I often times did forget that my breast(s) was out until I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. It’s a good thing I never opened the door for a package delivery. I would never be able to face that delivery man again!

4. Spilled Milk
I remember one of the first things my nurse told me in the hospital after I had my son was that breastmilk is liquid gold. I didn’t realize how serious this was until a few days and weeks into breastfeeding when I needed some breastmilk for a bottle. Every last drop counted as far as I was concerned. I don’t think I ever actually spilled any breastmilk, but what was just as bad for me was when I would warm up some milk in a bottle, then my son wouldn’t finish it all and I couldn’t keep it. Those were definitely some sad times.

5. Extra Calories
As if pregnancy wasn’t an excuse enough to stuff your face, breastfeeding is an even greater excuse because you’re actually burning calories from nursing! Around 500 extra calories a day to be exact. Definitely a good excuse to eat a few extra Oreos, if you ask me.

6. What Is Fear
I’ll never forget the first time my son bit me while breastfeeding when he finally got some teeth. It was definitely excruciating and it made me fear putting my breast in his mouth for weeks to come. Thankfully, I was one of the lucky ones who’s child didn’t continue to bite me, but I know many moms who’s babies bit them many times over and over again. If that’s not the pure love of a mother, then I don’t know what is.

7. Huge Breasts
I actually can’t identify with this meme because this didn’t actually happen to me, but I know plenty of moms who have lost tons of weight from breastfeeding. Unfortunately, for me, my body did the opposite. But, the increased chest size is always a bonus, am I right!?
