Have you ever noticed how extremely expensive area rugs can be? I HATE spending money on area rugs, mostly because they can cost so much money. I’m sure they can be difficult and very involved to make, which is why they are usually priced fairly high. I have certainly struggled in the past finding area rugs that don’t break the bank while decorating my home, as I’m sure you have, too. After doing A LOT of searching over the years, I have found some pretty great sites where you can find nice, beautiful area rugs without spending your life savings.
1. Rugs USA
I have purchased rugs from RUGS USA in the past and their pricing is pretty amazing. I would say it’s one of the more competitive sites when it comes to low prices and high quality, beautiful rugs. Another bonus is that the pricing gets even lower if they are having a sale, which actually happens quite often. I you’re patient, can find some really large rugs for under $200 which is almost unheard of!
2. Target
Oh, Target. Is there anyone that doesn’t love Target? It’s my happy place for so many reasons, one of those reasons being that it has fairly low pricing on most products. I just recently purchased a rug for my kitchen from Target because the price point could not be beat. Target constantly has sales or deals on rugs or home decor, so be sure when you’re ready to purchase that one you wait until one of those sales is running. Another great way to save money on purchasing rugs from Target is to use their Target Red Debit card which gives you added benefits like cash back, or you could use give cards you’ve been given that can take off some extra cash from the total price. I feel like I always have a random Target gift card lying around the house or in my purse somewhere.
3. Overstock
Overstock is an oldie, but a goodie, when it comes to finding good prices on household items. I’m sure you are familiar with them and that you’ve shopped their from their website before. You can find almost anything for your home there at a discounted price, and their rug selection is never ending, it seems. They have a huge selection to chose from with a wide variety of design aesthetics, so you’re guaranteed to find a rug you love.
4. IKEA
Okay, I know what you’re thinking…”IKEA is SO cheap!” Yes, you are right, IKEA is generally speaking pretty cheap and doesn’t have the best track record for some of their products (mostly their furniture items). However, we have purchased multiple rugs from IKEA because they have such reasonable pricing given the size you can get and they have all held up really well (even with having kids around) and have looked great in our home.
5. Walmart
Walmart is usually known for being one of the cheapest stores around, which means you can find some great deals from there. Walmart’s website carries a lot of other brand items that other stores carry, often times at lower prices than found elsewhere. And, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but over the last few years it seems as though Walmart has really stepped up their game in the products they offer, so odds are that you’ll find a rug you love.
6. TJ Maxx/Home Goods/Marshalls
I’m sure you already know that TJ Maxx, Home Goods, and Marshalls are all discount stores that have designer items at much lower prices, which means it’s a great way to find inexpensive area rugs. Did you know that TJ Maxx and Marshalls both have websites you can order from online? You can surf the web on their sites to find your perfect rug, or you can head to the store to see their beautiful options for yourself. They don’t always carry the same items in store as they do online, so shopping at these stores can be a little tricky, but they also might be the store where you find the perfect gem of a rug to go in your home.
7. Amazon
Did someone say 2 day delivery? Sign me up! Does it get much better than Amazon? You have hundreds of thousands of options when it comes to finding the perfect rug from Amazon and with 2 day delivery you can have your new rug in your home in no time. Amazon is also very competitive on pricing with similar products from other stores, so you know you’re getting a good deal!
