Richard and Emily were like any set of parents to be- excited about meeting their new baby. They were frequent users of their home doppler, enjoying every minute they could connect with their daughter by listening to her heartbeat. But two weeks before her due date, Emily noticed she had not felt the baby move since the day before. Using the doppler, her worst fears were confirmed. She couldn’t find a heartbeat. After the doctors verified the absence of a heartbeat, Emily began the difficult task of delivering her stillborn daughter.
