For several years, I have longed for a craft machine to show up under the Christmas tree with my name on it. I seriously love crafting and often dream about all the fun projects I could whip up, if only I had a Silhouette Cameo. I’m still holding out that this is my year, so I’ve begun researching easy DIY projects that can be made using the Silhouette. Here are some of my favorites!

1. Custom Pillows Using Vinyl Heat Transfer
I love me a good throw pillow, but trendy ones are pretty expensive. With a Silhouette Cameo, you can customize an old or simple pillow into something schnazzy, by adding a cute slogan, word or image. Your options are endless, as you can pick whatever color and texture of vinyl!

2. Stencils
I often shy away from gorgeous crafts that involve intricate quotes or lettering, because I am horrible at free handing. With the Silhouette, you can easily use fonts to create your own stencils! Then it’s just a matter of tracing and filling in. Your crafts are going to a serious new level.

3. Vinyl Labels
In another life, I would have been a professional organizer. That’s why I love labels and plan to label pretty much EVERYTHING in a cute way once I get my hands on a Silhouette. This craft machine will take ordinary baskets, bins and jars and turn them into a great piece of home decor.

4. Custom Mugs, Tea Cups & Tumblers
Etsy and expensive hipster stores all carry cute mugs with fun sayings. Quit throwing your money away and make your own! You can use your choice of adhesive vinyl in any color (even glitter) and start making personalized drinkware in no time. These make great gifts for teachers, and can also be a great motivator to drink more water!

5. Wood & Pallet Art
While I definitely don’t have a Fixer Upper style home, I still love a cute wooden sign or pallet project to break up the blank walls in my house. WIth some careful vinyl adhesive or a custom stencil, you can create beautiful and unique art perfect for your family. Wouldn’t they also be awesome gifts?

6. Canvas Art
I love hanging Canvas art in my home because it brings a lot of texture and dimension to plain, flat walls. But large canvas is expensive. If you have a craft machine, you can purchase plain canvases at any craft store (always use a 40% off coupon) and inexpensive craft paint to make a custom canvas perfect for your home. I bet all your family and friends won’t believe you made it yourself!

7. Personalized Shirts & Onesies
Personalize baby shower gifts with ease if you have a Silhouette machine. Make monthly onesies, adorable coming home outfits and more for a totally personal and unique gift. You don’t have to just stick with tiny sizes either. Create holiday shirt designs, fun matching outfits for family trips and pretty much anything else you can come up with!

8. Wall Art
Nurseries, laundry, mud and family rooms. All of these can be made more personalized and homey with the use of vinyl wall stickers. They are removable, can be cut to the exact size you need and can easily turn a boring, blank wall into your own personal canvas.
