When you become a parent, you become painfully aware that time stops for no one. You watch you little ones grow up with a bittersweet feeling, enjoying their new experiences but yearning for days gone by. Even as our population is booming with new life, an equal section is made up of our elderly friends and family. Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, is seeking to bring these two populations together, through their intergenerational learning center. Sound fancy? It’s basically a preschool and rest home, all in the same location! Watch this amazing video on how young and old share but one time together, and that is the present.
After watching this, it made me realize how little I understand about our elderly generation. It also warmed my heart to see such unconditional love from these children, and how spending so much time together will sow huge seeds of compassion into their lives from an early age. What did you think of this video? Did you get teary too?
