Let’s be honest, there’s nothing like watching military reunions with their loved ones. I personally have had a sister who served in the Army and was in Afghanistan for over a year, and as family you live day to day. There is constant fear that something may happen to your loved one, so the prospect of being reunited with them is priceless. Even more special, are those reunions with children, especially the surprise ones. Seven year old Hailey has a father in the Navy, who has been stationed overseas for the last 7 months. After a cheerleading routine, she is shocked to hear her father’s name announced over the loudspeaker. Watch this beautiful and emotional reunion of Hailey and her dad.
I definitely needed a tissue on that one! Hailey was so surprised, she didn’t even know which parent to hug first! Every time I watch one of these, I realize how much of a sacrifice not only our service people make, but their families as well. So next time you see a service person, be sure to thank them!
