Born with a hearing disability, Elijah has not been able to hear anything since his birth. His right ear can only hear up to 75 decibels and the left ear is profoundly deaf. Obviously, this is a difficult thing to handle for parents, so they looked into ways they could give their son the sense of hearing. At 9 weeks old, doctors used hearing aids on Elijah. What happened next is the most beautiful thing! Watch as he starts blinking his eyes in response to sound and then as he starts to hear his mother’s voice. Watching this brings tears to my eyes! I’m sure both Elijah and his parents lives are changed forever as he was given this precious gift. It’s so amazing to live in a technological age where we can give such a young baby such an amazing opportunity.
