Some of you may have read an article several years ago that Spain was considering a law requiring children to do their household chores. It’s the plight of parents around the world. How can we get our children do help around the house? While we may not have a law here in the United States that requires them to do chores, as parents we can be creative and find new ways to engage our kids with the process, perhaps even get them to enjoy doing their chores! Here are ten genius ideas by fellow parents to motivate your children to check off that chore list!
#1 – Withhold The WiFi
In this day and age, our children are digitally connected to everything, their friends, games, etc. This is certainly a creative way to get them to do their chores. Only when they are all finished, do they receive the WiFi password to access the internet.Source: Pinterest
#2 – If They Leave It Out, Pick It Up!
When your children leave their toys, cell phones, or anything else of theirs out and didn’t clean up after themselves, this is a great way to get them to do chores. Simply fill the pocket with chores that need doing, and when one of their items is confiscated by mom, they will only get it back when they choose a chore to do! It’s a great way to get kids to do chores.

Write chores on plain clothespins, after they get completed, your child hangs it on the “chore line.” After they have filled up an entire line, they receive a prize! The kids will be scurrying around trying to get the chores done and fill up their lines!
