1. Coats/Blazers
One of the best ways to look professional is to put on a coat or blazer. Pairing these items with any outfit will automatically dress it up and make it look more professional. The best part is that they don’t even have to button or close, and since you’re pregnant this most likely isn’t going to happen anyways. Just leave them unbuttoned and you’ll still look professional and chic. They will dress up an otherwise casual top and make it look work appropriate, which will save you from having to buy 2 pregnancy wardrobes.
2. The Right Shoes
Obviously, people thing that heels are usually the most professional type of shoe to wear. Howeverm as a pregnant woman wearing heels isn’t always an option, especially when your feet get swollen and big. If you are required to wear heels, buy some with a very small kitten heel that’s only an inch or so high. You’ll still get the heel look without the uncomfortable pain of wearing higher heels. If you can wear flats, make sure they look professional. Don’t go and wear the flats you’ve had in your closet for five years that you wear every day on the weekends. Wear some nice, professional flats that looks nice, new and dressy.
3. Simple Staples
Since you won’t be pregnant for very long and you don’t want to spend a fortune on a bunch of new maternity clothes, keep things simple and go with staple items. Think black, brown, gray, navy, etc. Buy a few maternity pants or skirts in these colors and that’s about all you’ll need. You can pair these with any top, even if they’re not maternity tops. Also, don’t forget the blazer!
4. Accessorize
One of the best ways to dress up an outfit without spending a fortune or spending a lot of time thinking about it, is to accessorize it. Throw on a bold statement necklace, or a nice pair of earrings. Pretty pieces of jewelry will automatically make your outfit look more put together and thought out. It will make people think that you put more time and thought into your outfit than you really did.

5. The Proper Fit
Fit is key when it comes to dressing professionally while pregnant. You don’t want anything too tight, especially on your legs, butt, belly, or breasts. We all know those areas tend to get a little vuluptuous when pregnant and wearing things that are too tight might send the wrong message. Wear skirts and pants that are a little loose fitting or flowy, and make sure that your tops aren’t too low cut. Keep it professional at all times.
