7. Hanging Rug
If you’re looking for a softer look above your bed, try hanging a rug as your headboard. It’s still a bold statement behind your bed without being too heavy or looking too hard and cold. It can be a bold pattern and design or a shag rug for more texture and dimension. Either way it will look beautiful as a finishing touch to your bedroom and will definitely create that unique look you’ve been looking for.

8. Wall Decals
If you don’t want to put any holes in your wall, but still want a bold look above your bed, try using wall decals in place of a headboard. They are easy to install as well as remove and they come in a variety of colors and designs. You’re guaranteed to find the perfect wall decals for the look you want to achieve in your bedroom. The best part is that you can make the decals go as high as you want above the bed, or as wide as you want on the sides. There really are no rules for this DIY project.
