4. She Has Her Own Language
Do you ever listen to your teenage daughter talk and say to yourself, “What the heck is she saying? What does LOL, OMG, BRB, and TTYL mean?” And don’t even get me started on “bae.” The younger generation has really taken a liking to abbreviating and shortening words and phrases and it has become a new language. It’s totally normal to be confused and if you really want to know what she’s saying you can look it up on the internet so you can be clued in on what’s going on in that little head of hers.
5. Her Style Changes Constantly
Your daughter probably started out with a sweet and innocent style, then started wearing all black and heavy eyeliner, then switched to skinny jeans and crop tops, and now she’s probably wearing heels and a dress that may be just a bit too short for your liking. Teenage girls definitely like to experiment with their style and this means that it’ll change very frequently. It may be hard for you to keep up with all these styles, but just remember, she’s trying to find out who she is, so as long as she’s always dressed appropriate, support her and love her.
6. Her Hormones Are Out Of Control
Oh, the teenage hormones. They are one of these most horrible things about being a teenager. One moment your teenage daughter loves you and you’re best friends, then the next she’s slamming doors in your face and screaming that she never wants to see your face again. You never know if your daughter is going to be in a good mood or a bad mood when she wakes up or when you pick her up from school and most of the time you have to walk on eggshells around her so you don’t set off a trigger and create a monster. It’s certainly a wild ride trying to keep up with the hormone roller coaster that is being a teenage girl.
