7. If Her Bedroom Door Is Shut, DO NOT OPEN IT
Once upon a time, I’m sure your daughter loved spending time with your family and was constantly sitting in the front room playing games and talking with everyone. Now you’re lucky if you ever see her bedroom door open for longer than 5 seconds. Teenage girls certainly like their privacy and if you do see her bedroom door shut, you better not dare open it. You may unleash the hormonal monster that we were just talking about. Of course, you can always knock, but chances are she’ll still want to be left alone in the privacy of her own room with the door shut.
8. She Doesn’t Want Your Advice Or Help
Remember when your daughter came to you for everything? If she was having a fight with a friend, she would ask you what to do. If she needed help with a feminine problem, she came to you. Well, those days are probably long gone. Most teenage girls think that parents are out of touch with reality and society and therefore they don’t want your old person advice. Even if you try to offer your help without her asking, you’ll get shut down and told that you don’t understand.
9. She’s Constantly Listening To Music
Now that technology has advanced so much to the point where we can listen to music at any time and anywhere we want, teenagers take full advantage of this. You most likely see your daughter with earphones in her ears more often than not. She listens to her earphones on the way to school (even though you have music playing in the car), walking to and from classes, while she’s doing homework, and maybe even at the dinner table. Whether she’s actually listening to music or not may still be a mystery, but seeing her without those earphones in is like seeing a lunar eclipse – it doesn’t happen very often.
