10. I Allowed Myself One Cheat Night Per Week
Just because I was eating healthy and losing weight, didn’t mean that I never craved any kind of foods. There were so many times through out the week when I would think of a particular food that sounded so amazing. I would save that food for my “cheat meal” on the weekend. I always allowed myself one cheat meal per week so I wouldn’t go absolutely crazy and end up binge eating. Like I said I usually did this on the weekend because, let’s face it, the weekends are just more fun and it gives you an excuse to have date night with your hubby.
11. I Cooked Most Meals, But Still Had The Occasional Meal Out
It’s easiest to eat healthy when you cook meals at home. I found most of my recipes from Pinterest. However, I did still eat out when I would go out with friends, or just wanted a little break from cooking. If I did eat out and it wasn’t my cheat meal, I tried to find a place that would offer at least something a little healthy. Most restaurants now a days have “skinny menus” or items on their menu that are under a certain amount of calories. If they didn’t have something like that, I would usually choose a grilled chicken dish and substitute vegetables for the potatoes. Salads can also be a good option, but just be very careful what dressing you have. Don’t have any kind of creamy dressing. Instead, opt for the vinaigrettes that will be less likely to have a large amount of fat.
