3. Melted Crayon Art
This art project does require something beyond your control: a hot, sunny day. If you’ve already got one, then you’ll also need crayons, aluminum foil, paper plate and cookie cutters. Peel and break your crayons into small portions. Then cover your plate in foil and lay the cookie cutters on top. Add crayons and place in a sunny spot, then wait for the melting to begin. Once they’ve melted, take the entire plate inside and wait to cool. Pop crayon art out of the cookie cutter and voila! Kids can save the shapes as art or use them as one just crayon to color.
