Between old wives tales, outdated medical information and our family and friends good intentions, pregnant women end up walking (or waddling) through much of their pregnancy avoiding all sorts of things that they don’t need to. Thankfully, we have Google and can figure out right away if most of these really are true. Pregnancy can be a long 9 months, enjoy it as much as you can by knowing what you can and can’t do!
1. Spicy Foods
You may want to avoid spicy food simply to avoid heartburn or because it doesn’t sound good. However, don’t avoid for fear that it will hurt your baby, turn them red in the womb or cause them to be born with tons of hair. Many cultures consume spicy food daily as part of their cultural cuisine, and have no problems while pregnant. If you have a hankering for something spicy, enjoy it fearlessly!
