Mamas, we know you’re busy, but that’s no reason to sit out on all the holiday fun. Here are five sweet and simple date ideas for Valentine’s Day, whether you’re spending it with the hubby or the whole family!
1. The Classic: A Dinner Date
…for the couple who needs an excuse dress up and spend some quality “grownup time” together. While this one is pretty self-explanatory, I do have a little piece of advice for you: MAKE RESERVATIONS NOW! Seriously, places book up fast for Valentine’s Day. And while you’re at it, make sure your sitter (aka, Grandma) is free to watch the kiddos!
2. A Family Affair
Why not celebrate with the whole squad? Take the kids out for gelato, ice skating, or to a family-friendly movie. After all, they’re the loves of your life too, right?
3. A Cozy Night In
If you and your man have been spending more time at the office/kids’ after school activities/in the car than at home, the best way to spend this V-Day may be hunkered down at home. Grab some blankets, make popcorn, and get two movies: one to watch with the kids, and one to watch once they’re in bed and you’ve brought out the champagne. Now pop that cork!
4. Brunch with the Bunch
This year’s day of love falls on a Sunday, after all! Plan a big brunch at home–bacon, pancakes, eggs, the works–and enjoy a lazy, lounge-y morning together, whether it’s just the two of you, or the whole gang.
5. Dabbling Downtown
This also works for both couples and families. Pop into a coffee shop for a warm drink and take a stroll downtown. Meander around the heart-themed window displays and swoon over sparkly set-ups, Breakfast at Tiffany’s style. (This is a cheap date idea that could quickly get expensive–if you’re lucky.) What better way to get into the holiday spirit?
We wish a happy and love-filled Valentine’s Day to all you Mamas and your families!
