6 DIY Pickle Jar Projects: Upcycle Ideas for Home & Crafts

I have a small collection of empty pickle jars under my kitchen sink. Whenever we finish a jar of pickles, I clean it out and add it to my collection. I use the jars to drain grease into, but I also have high hopes that someday they’ll be used for a fun DIY project. I certainly have some ideas on how to re-purpose them, thanks to these 6 cute pickle jar projects I’ve stumbled upon. I tell ya, there are some very creative, resourceful people out there. If you’re “in a pickle” and can’t think of a way to reuse those empty jars collecting dust on your shelves, try one of these pickle jar crafts.

1. Bathroom Storage Jars

Add some pizzazz to those pickle jars by painting the lids, adding a stylish doorknob to the top and wrapping strips of paper around the center. You can store all those smaller bathroom items like q-tips, cotton balls, flossers or bar soaps.

2. Utensil Holder Jars

At your next party, display your utensils in jars decked out with vinyl letters or scrapbook stickers. The simple look of these jars really adds a nice touch to the utensil display. I love the way these jars were set inside of a caddy (also part of this DIY project).

3. Picture Frame Jars

You know those pictures you have that don’t fit into any frames because they are some random size? Well, no worries! You can put them inside an empty, upside-down pickle jar and display them that way. Using several jars of varying sizes and heights will create a really cool look.
