Valentine’s Day is typically thought of as a holiday for people in love, and many who don’t have a significant other find the day to be depressing. But if you have kids, then you have someone who you can shower with love, no matter your relationship status! It’s another way our children reclaim the holidays and make them special again. If you aren’t planning on celebrating Valentine’s Day romantically, you can turn it into a special holiday with your family. Make a new tradition of dressing up and having a “fancy” dinner (i.e. whatever your kids will actually eat) at home. Or you can dress up and go out too! Although you’ll probably have better luck staying at home by avoiding the overpriced prix fixe menus and crowds full of love birds. You can light candles and turn down the lights to create the ultimate Valentine’s atmosphere!

If you love Secret Santa you’ll love Secret Cupids! With a little planning ahead, your family can draw names and make someone’s Valentine’s Day extra special with a few gifts a long the way. 6. Rose Drop
Everybody loves to get flowers but not everyone has a special someone on Valentine’s Day. Why not bless your neighbor’s with a rose? Buy a dozen BEFORE the big day (have you SEEN the prices on Valentine’s Day?) and then drop a single rose on your neighbor’s doorsteps with a sweet note. What a great way for your kids to share the love!
