7 Money Saving Apps For Every Mom

Our cell phones aren’t just phones anymore: they are personal computers, sources of entertainment, our lifeline to family and friends, our personal journal, they house our family schedules and much more. While there are still people who try and buck the system, there’s nothing wrong with getting the most out of our devices as moms- and heck, we need all the help we can get. One of the best parts about our modern cell phones are the millions of apps we have to choose from and my favorite? Apps that save me money! Look, I love coupons, but I have a 3-year old, work from home and have my own personal life to handle. I don’t have time to devote to clipping coupons on a weekly basis. Not to mention, Southern California stores no longer double coupons, so it’s definitely not worth my time! Anyways, there are tons of apps out there that can easily save you hundreds (yes, I said hundreds) of dollars on things that you shop for on a regular basis. So check out this great list and get shopping!

1. Target Cartwheel

I don’t know a single person who doesn’t love Target and that’s why everyone needs this app. Target has developed their own coupon app, Target Cartwheel and its super simple to use. You can add offers to your own cartwheel, and then simply scan the barcode at checkout. The majority of the coupons are for Target’s own brands, such as Up & Up, Archer Farms and Simply Balanced. However, they have hot deals every week on big brands and sometimes for up to 40% off. I personally use this app and have saved well over $100! I recommend pairing your cartwheel with the Target Red Card and you’ll save another 5% on each purchase.

2. RetailMeNot

RetailMeNot is one of the simplest coupon apps out there because it combines online and brick and mortar coupons. Before you shop anywhere, pull up the store on RetailMeNot to see if there is a sale or coupon. The app will show you what stores are in your area, give you exclusive coupons and once you have an account, you can add coupons and deals that will be accessible on any device. You should never shop without checking RetailMeNot first!

3. iBotta

Hate coupons all together? iBotta is for you. This free app lets you unlock rebates before you head to the store. Then shop for your regular brands and when you get home, scan the receipts and voila! You will start accruing money before you know it! It can be used at tons of retailers and even more brands. You are earning money on things you already buy, and I consider that a win-win!

4. Groupon

If you’ve never used Groupon, you are missing out. This app helps you instantly save money on all sorts of things: restaurants, merchandise, attractions and more. Savings can be up to 70% off and you can both purchase and redeem your offers right on your phone! The only thing wrong with Groupon is it makes you want to buy way more than you should!

5. Favado

Favado helps you save up to 30% without coupons by gleaning deals from your local stores. You can set up notifications for products going on sale, compare between other retailers and create your own shopping lists right in the app. Users report hours saved on shopping for the best deals in town!

6. Gas Buddy

I think we can all agree that saving money at the gas pump is always welcome in our budgets. This app couldn’t be easier: it helps you find the cheapest gas in your area. Additionally, you can earn points by reporting gas prices, have the opportunity to win $100 of gas per day and can save at the cheapest gas stations in your area. Sign me up!

7. BerryCart

If you prefer to shop organic, vegan and Non-GMO you know firsthand what a sacrifice it is to your budget because those items are not cheap. BerryCart is one of the few apps focused on giving deals for healthy options, yet it can be used at over 25,000 retailers. Shop normally for deals listed in the app, take a picture of your receipt, upload and then get cash back through PayPal or gift cards!
