1. Tinkle Targets (for boys)
I’ve heard it said that potty training boys and girls can be very different. Of course you will start out with teaching little boys just to sit down and use the toilet, but eventually they will need to be able to stand and aim. That’s where Tinkle Targets come in! They are biodegradable and flushable tissues that come in either sports, construction or transportation themes. They help teach little boys to stand and use the potty, while also adding a little motivation to aim straight!

Leslie Patricelli’s “Potty” board book is an Amazon #1 bestseller in children’s toilet training books. Both you and your child will love this story, as told from the inner workings of a toddler, asking the age old question: should I just use the potty? This is a great book to get your little one thinking how cool it is to use the big kid toilet.

3. Portable Potty Seat
If you haven’t had a “Mom, I need to go RIGHT NOW” moment, then you either haven’t watched enough of “Nina Needs To Go,” or you are just starting out potty training. When your child starts telling you ahead of time that they need to go, you know they mean business. You want to encourage them to tell you, but also don’t want to have an accident if you are out and about. To make sure they don’t have an accident, get embarrassed and then never want to use the potty again, keep a portable potty seat in your trunk! The travel potties pictured above are lightweight and can easily stow in a diaper bag or trunk. They have liners that capture everything and can be easily discarded. It’s definitely not an everyday potty, but’s much better than having an accident in the car seat!

4. Piddle Pad
I feel bad that this product is called something similar to what you would use to house train your pet, but that’s what they decided on! This is a great product to keep your potty training moving forward. It’s temping to put your child back in diapers when going in the car, to prevent a messy car seat. But with this piddle pad, you can travel with peace of mind that your car seat will be protected.

5. Potty Watch
When you are potty training, you will constantly be asking your child if they “need to go.” Even though they may not need to, you often sit them on the potty anyways so they get used to going frequently and listening to their body. A great product is a Potty Watch, that your child gets to wear. It will alert your child at whatever intervals you set, and is accompanied by music and lights. They will love having some ownership in the potty training process and may even enjoy it!
