Just because you work in a business professional environment doesn’t mean that you can’t look stylish and chic. There are so many ways to make your work outfits look very fashionable while still being completely professional. If you don’t, your work wardrobe can end up looking dull and unimpressive. Obviously you always want to look and feel your best when you’re working, and you want others to think you are a creative, interesting person and a great way to do that is by ensuring that your work wardrobe is stylish. Here are 7 great tips on how to look really fashionable while you’re working.

1. Keep It Classy, Not Trashy

One of the most important things about being stylish even in a work environment is making sure to keep it classy. You want to stay far away from looking trashy. That means making sure your cleavage is minimal if not completely covered, your skirts are long enough to cover most of your thighs, and your heels are tasteful and not 6 inches high. If you want to be taken seriously in a business environment you need to dress the part. However, with that being said, keeping yourself covered doesn’t mean that you can’t have an amazing work wardrobe. There are other ways to make your work outfits pop.

2. Make A Statement With Your Shoes

For any woman, one of the most important parts of an outfit are the shoes! They’re sometimes the first thing someone notices. Instead of wearing boring black or nude pumps (which can and always will be a classic work staple when done right), try going for a colored or printed heel. I’m not saying you have to wear neon yellow shoes to make a statement. Some classic red pumps will be bold enough to get people’s attention, but still appropriate for a business setting.

3. Blazers Are A Must

If you really want to look professional, wear a blazer. On both men and women, blazers make you look more professional and put together. Blazers don’t have to be boring, though. You can roll the sleeves up a few times to show off the neat design of the lining on the inside. They also don’t have to be black. You can wear a blazer that’s colorful or even has a tasteful print to it. Just remember to always keep it professional. You don’t want to walk into a business meeting wearing a blazer with skulls all over it.

4. Invest In A Few Really Nice Staple Pieces

The key to have a really nice work wardrobe is having some really nice staple pieces such as a pant suit or dress suit. Suits can be pretty pricey, but you don’t need to buy a bunch to still look great every day of the week. Invest in a few of them and switch the pieces out and wear them with various blouses, cardigans, blazers, and tights. You can afford to buy more of these pieces and it will allow you to still look really put together without having a new suit to wear every day.

5. Wear Color

The best way to look stylish and still professional is to wear some color. No one ever said that business clothing has to be black or gray. Well, maybe your particular employer has rules on wearing those certain things, but if they don’t have fun with color! Don’t be afraid to use it. It’s a great way to make a bold statement with what you’re wearing.

6. Keep Accessories Simple, Yet Bold

When it comes to accessories and work, keep them simple, but bold. Don’t wear a necklace, bracelet, earnings, and big rings all at once. Instead wear just a bold statement necklace that adds interest to your outfit without overdoing it. If it’s bold and big you won’t need other accessories to wear with it.

7. Don’t Be Afraid Of Pattern And Prints

A great way to really look stylish and chic is to wear patterns. Don’t be afraid of wearing patterns even in a business environment. If you are worried about it being too much, pair it with other neutral, solid pieces of clothing to offset the statement of the pattern. The prints will make a big impact in your outfit and will be really bold, so be sure you’re ready to handle the positive attention you get when you wearing something with a print.
