I’m one of those moms who takes waaaaay too many pictures of her kids. I can’t help it! They’re so cute, and I want to remember as much as I can from their childhoods. One thing I could take more photos of, however, is my children with me. I want them to be able to look back and see how I looked when I was younger (on those days when they need a good laugh). To see the way I looked at them with love, and how much fun we had together. That’s why I love the idea of taking “mommy & me” fall photos. Sure, you could take snapshots any time of year, but fall is so beautiful, and with its glorious colors, you’ve got the perfect backdrop.
If you’re a photo-fanatic mom like me, you’ll love these “mommy & me” fall photo ideas!

1. Matching Outfits
You don’t even have to be surrounded by trees or fall colors to get a cute shot of you and your mini me. Just wear coordinating outfits and spend the day twinsing around.

2. Apple Picking
If you’re hitting the apple orchard this fall, use it as a chance for a fall photo opp. Kids love feeling grown up by picking their own fruit, and the smiles that are sure to break out are definitely worth catching on camera!
Take a look at the sweet photos from Barefoot Blonde of her day at the apple orchard with her little man.
3. Laying In Leaves
It might be a cliche, but it’s one that won’t ever get old. Laying in fall leaves is a must-have for a fall photo shoot. Lay down next to your child head to head, look up and smile. The combination of the fall colors and your adorable baby’s face will be so good, you’ll want to hang the photo on your wall!

4. Pumpkin Patch Fun
There is something about kids and pumpkins that is so cute. I love seeing their eyes light up when they’ve found the perfect pumpkin. What’s even more adorable? Seeing their eyes light up when they are with mama. Bring that camera to the pumpkin patch when you’re headed to find the pumpkin of your ‘lil pumpkin’s dreams!

5. Playing In Leaves
Besides laying in the leaves, another great shot for fall is playing in the leaves. Throwing them, crunching them, jumping in them, whatever tickles your fancy. I have yet to find a photo of a child playing in fall leaves without a smile on his face.

6. Peeking Behind A Tree
Kids love playing peekaboo because it’s silly and fun. For the same reason, they can’t help but smile when you play a game of “peek around the tree.” It might seem cheesy, but I think a photo of a mom and her child peeking around a tree is totally cute for fall! You could peek around and look at each other, or just smile for the camera. Either way, there is lots of fun to be had with this idea.
