Every year, the Pantone Color Institute (the official authority on color) releases its list of colors that are going to be trending. For 2017, we’re going to see lots of brights, muted neutrals, and hues that bring out Mother Nature’s beauty. If you’re planning to redecorate or update your wardrobe, the Pantone color spectrum this year has lots of fun colors! These are the top 6 to try in your home or your closet.
1. Greenery
The Color of the Year for 2017 has been named Greenery. It’s a yellow-green shade that symbolizes renewal and restoration. Inspired by the first days of spring, this is a color that can easily be incorporated into your home decor. Something like a small houseplant or a basket would add a pop of color to any room. And if you’ve got warm coloring, a makeup look using this shade would bring out your natural beauty.
2. Primrose Yellow
This mustard-like color is sure to brighten up your space or your face! It would work great in a kitchen, or in small doses in a living room. You could try a bold eye makeup look, but a safer bet might be to do something more subtle like go with an accessory that complements your outfit.
3. Pink Yarrow
Last year was the the year of pretty rose quartz. This year, a more vibrant shade of pink is making an appearance. When it comes to home decor, teen girls would totally love a bright pink room. A punch of color using a throw pillow or blanket would definitely add some fun to your home. In the world of beauty, don’t be afraid to rock a bright pink lip for a night out!
4. Blue Lapis
If you’ve got nautical style in your home, this year you can go all out with it. Combining this bold blue shade with other varying shades of blue would look fantastic! Go ahead and mix in a powder or sky blue to add dimension. Something like a striped window curtain or bedspread would create a soothing environment. Dazzle in your mama style by donning blue jewelry or a handbag.
5. Hazlenut
Tone down your home design by creating an inviting space with this neutral shade. Rugs and other large pieces can set the stage for any room. You could do an easy upgrade by swapping out cabinet handles, or painting your fireplace mantel. Go with outfits that are loaded with hazlenut pieces, so that you can really have fun adding in contrasting colors and textures!
6. Flame
What better way to decorate with the color flame than by using candles? Small touches of this bright orange will easily liven things up. Since orange is the color of energy, draw attention to the gathering area of your home, like the hallway. Paint those walls this eye-catching shade to really make a statement. And don’t forget to stock up on orange sweaters and scarves.
