4. Boxed Meal
I know many people scoff at the thought of a boxed meal, but they have saved me many a nights of having to run to the grocery store with a hungry toddler in tow. There are so many healthy options now a days, you are sure to find a Macaroni and Cheese or a rice-themed meal that fits your lifestyle (i.e., organic and non-neon powdered cheese). They are quick and easy and perfect for low-key (and low-budget!) nights.
5. Onions
It seems like no matter what I make, I always need onions! Ok, that’s not true but many prepared meals require them so it’s going on my list! Homemade sauces, soups and stir fry’s all need onions, so why not always keep a few on hand?
6. Pasta
Pasta comes in all shapes and sizes (quite literally) and there’s a version for everyone- traditional, whole wheat, quinoa and even gluten-free. Pasta is great as a main course, but also handy to add in to soups and make into pasta salads and casseroles. It’s perfect for quick nights and even better when you haven’t planned ahead!
