4. Frame Light Switch Plates
For a very simple and inexpensive upgrade to your home, put some frames on your switch plate covers. To achieve this look, spray paint the frames, remove the plates from the wall, glue the frames onto them, then reinstall! It’s very simple, but creates such an amazing end product. It takes your home to a whole new custom designed look. I’ll warn you, though, it’s addicting and after you do one, you’ll want to do your whole entire house.

6. Paint Faux High Baseboards
Model homes are always so beautiful but actually creating that same look in your own home is incredibly expensive and sometimes out of our reach. If you want your home to look a little more like a custom model home, you can create a larger baseboard using one thin piece of wood and white paint. All you have to do is install the wood a few inches above your existing baseboard, then paint the wall, the existing baseboard, and the piece of wood white so they all look like one cohesive piece. Instead of a standard baseboard it will look like you have a custom built baseboard.

7. Hide TV Cords With A Shower Rod
We all love the look of a free hanging TV on the wall, but those pesky cords definitely don’t look great. If you want to hide the cords without having to have a professional come and put them in the wall, hide them in a shower curtain rod. This is an incredibly genius solution. Simply paint the rod the same color as your wall, then put the cords through the rod and let it stand behind your TV. It’s an easy and inexpensive fix that’ll make your TV room look much more finished off.

8. Cover Ugly Air Vents
Air vents are one of those ugly things in our home that we don’t have much control over since we need them to make our AC and heat functional. They can be very ugly and unsightly and completely throw off the overall look of a room. An ingenious way to hide and cover up these ugly vents is to hang a decorative open door mat over the vent. Since the mat still has openings in the design, air will still be able to pass through the vent, which still makes it functional. You can even paint the doormat any color to achieve the look you want. Such a quick, easy, and inexpensive solution for a more beautiful home!
