If there’s one accessory that I can’t live without, it’s a scarf. Scarves are an excellent way to add color, texture and even function to an otherwise simple outfit. You can add a pashmina to evening wear, a wool tartan scarf to keep warm, or a lightweight fashion scarf on the warmest of days. They are so versatile and something every woman should have a few of in their wardrobe.

Most of us only know a few ways to wear a scarf, but there are actually many that will give you added style with this simple garment. Check out this great list!

1. Braided Scarf

I absolutely love this style, and every time I personally wear it I get double looks, followed by women coming up to me and asking me to braid their own scarves! This is a perfect look if you don’t have an infinity scarf and have a long, flowy one. You’ll be braiding it jus like you would you hair!

Head over to Scarves.net to see a super easy tutorial on how to braid your scarves!

2. Twist & Loop

One of the great things about scarves is you can add just a touch of detail to an outfit with minimal effort. This style is perfect to add style to a plain outfit, like a T-Shirt and jeans. It looks much harder than it is, and is great for a lengthy and soft scarf!

Check out  Made2Style.com for this easy step-by-step and other great resources for beauty, decor and party planning tips.

Oh my, I love this look and can’t wait to try it myself! This is a great style to again, dress up a simple look, but can also be easily worn with a leather jacket, sweater or dressy ensemble. It looks so detailed, but is just a few simple steps of looping!

I’m not gonna lie, blanket scarves intimidate me! They are just so huge and bulky, and I’ve never been able to get them to lay right. But this is a great style that I have to try because it’s so easy! This particular style works best with square blanket scarves, so why not give it a go?

6. Braided Knot

Most of us thought when we learned The NYC technique, we were styling. But this braided version is the even better! What a great style with awesome detail. You’ll definitely be the envy of other scarf wearers with this complex (but actually simple) style!

7. The Chic Bunny

Square scarves can be another tricky scarf to tie fashionable, because they have much less material. They are mostly used to add some detail to an open neckline and can even be added to your hair!

9. Twisted Infinity

Don’t worry infinity scarves, we haven’t forgotten about you! One of the best things about an infinity is they are easy to wear, because it requires minimal twisting and looping, especially if you have a very short one. This particular style is absolutely stunning and so easy! It looks complex but will take you just a minute to achieve.

10. Scarf & Belt

This style is the newest trend in wearing scarves, and it really means WEARING. If you have a large blanket scarf (or even just an oversized pashmina or other large scarf), instead of wrapping it around your neck, tie across the shoulders and securing with a belt. This will keep you warm, fashionable and so unique!
