10. List The Contents Of The Box
When it comes to unpacking you usually have certain things in mind that you want or need to unpack first. If you don’t label what is inside each box you’re going to end up opening up every single box as you search for what you want. To avoid this, make a quick list of the contents on the side or the top of the box. This way you can easily see what is inside each box without opening them all.
11. Print Any Change Of Address Forms Before Moving
For most of your change of address needs, you’ll be able to do those online. However, there are some that will require you to mail in a physical form. Find out what those are, then print them off and fill them out before you move. You don’t necessarily have to send them before you move, but chances are you won’t be hooking up your computer and printer right away when you move in, so doing this before you move will ensure that they will get printed and filled out in a timely manner.

12. Set Up One Room Immediately Upon Moving In
When you arrive at your new place it’s going to be chaotic for a few days. Boxes will be everywhere, furniture will be placed in weird locations, etc. All this craziness creates more stress that you don’t need more of. To help yourself and your family relax a little, completely set up a room as much as possible immediately upon moving in. A great room for this is the family room or living room because everyone can kick back in that room. Place the furniture where you want it, unpack the boxes, and set it up as much as possible. If everyone helps, this should’t take too long. Then you can all sit down and relax for a little while when it’s done.
