Everyone has a jar of petroleum jelly someone in their house. If you are at all like me, it is tucked somewhere in the chaos under your bathroom sink and very rarely sees the light of day unless you’ve run out of lotion or desperately need a little moisture on your lips in the winter. Recently, I have discovered a whole new world of Vaseline beauty uses. I’m not sure my life will ever be the same again. The six things on this list may seem simple but they can make a huge difference in your life.
1. As A Makeup Remover
If you are someone who wears makeup frequently, you understand the importance of ensuring that you always remove it at the end of the day. Sometimes, your cleanser won’t get it all, which means that you may need the help of something with a little more pull. Vaseline is fantastic for the boldest makeup and the toughest eye makeup. It can remove makeup without causing tons of disruption to the skin underneath and does it at a fraction of the price that other makeup removers do it.
2. To Soften Up Your Heels
Sandal season is here, which means that it’s time to get your feet as soft as possible in preparation for showing them off. Even something as simple as rubbing a liberal amount of vaseline on your cracked heels and covering your feet in socks can leave your heels soft and smooth overnight.
3. For A Glowy Complexion
As much as we wish it was different, most of us don’t have naturally luminous skin. With the help of products like highlighters, giving your skin a gorgeous glow is actually pretty easy these days. If you are looking for a cheaper, more low-maintenance version of your favorite highlighter, break out the vaseline. Just a little bit swiped on the tops of your cheekbones and the other high points on your face can completely transform your skin.
4. To Make Home Manicures Less Messy
Home manicures are a fantastic way to bond with your daughters and friends and an even better way to pamper yourself a little bit. Unfortunately, for non-professionals, even painting your nails can get a bit messy, and this often ruins the entire look. By applying a bit of petroleum jelly around your cuticles before you paint your nails, you can keep the polish from going everywhere and ruining your nails.
5. As A Moisturizer
Mostly because of its consistency, many believe that vaseline isn’t supposed to be used as a moisturizer. And for those with oily and acne prone skin this may be true. But for everyone else, petroleum jelly is a cost-effective way to keep your skin nice and hydrated. Vaseline contains properties that keep it from clogging your pores and leaving behind tons of gross residue. Still, it may be best to designate vaseline to night time use just in case.
6. To Tame Your Brows
Styled, defined brows are in right now and they don’t look to be going out of style anytime soon. Eyebrow gels were specifically created to keep eyebrows tamed and in check but they can also get kind of expensive. Rubbing a bit of vaseline along your styled brows will keep them from becoming unruly.
