6 Ways To Wear A Maxi Skirt For Fall

I think one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing is a maxi skirt (or dress). You can just throw it on, the fabric is usually soft and lightweight, and it is such a versatile piece. Most styles of maxi skirts fit snug but are still loose enough to walk in. And you can easily throw on a maxi when you haven’t had time to shave (which is like, always, right?). The best thing about a maxi skirt, though, is that you can wear it any time of year! Since we’re in the fall fashion season, let’s look at a few ways to wear a maxi skirt or dress for fall!

1. With A Cozy Sweater

Break out that favorite fall sweater and pair it with that comfortable maxi, and you’ve got a match made in heaven! The sweater is perfect for those chilly fall days, and the maxi skirt adds just the right amount of feminine to your outfit. Dress up the look with heels, or stay more casual in a pair of flats.

2. With A Denim Jacket

Throwing a jacket over a maxi skirt ensemble is such a simple way to add texture to your look. If the skirt is on the dressy side, that’s even better! The combination of a casual piece and a dressier piece is a recipe for style success!

3. With A Long Sleeved Tee And Sneakers

For moms who are always on the go, a great way to wear a maxi skirt is with a comfortable long sleeved tee and casual sneakers. If your style has a tomboy flavor, this look is just right for you! The maxi skirt will give you all the femininity you need, so you can focus on wearing pieces that make you feel comfortable and confident!

4. With A Chambray Shirt

One of the most popular fabrics for fall is chambray. That’s why you’ll often see tons of fashion bloggers posting outfits in the fall that include a chambray shirt. If you have a small (or ginormous) chambray shirt collection, now’s the time to take one off the hanger and pair it with a colorful maxi skirt. Your look will be fun, youthful and pay a slight bit of homage to the country western lifestyle.

5. With A Leather Jacket

Like to give your outfits a bit of an edge? A leather jacket will do the trick! It really doesn’t matter how casual or dressy your maxi skirt is, a leather jacket will “toughen up” your look. I like the idea of throwing it on for evening, but keeping your look less dramatic during the day.

Check out Sydne Style for tips on wearing other types of skirts for fall too!

6. With A Classic Tee

Just like a maxi skirt, a classic tee is a super comfy piece of clothing. Put the two together and you’ve got the ultimate comfortable fall fashion ensemble. Add a twist (no pun intended) to your look by doing a front knot with your tee, which is going to be a big trend this year!

Stop by Lunchpails and Lipstick for more maxi dress looks, as well as inspiration for beauty, fitness and kids.
