5. Paper Weights
These paper weights are created out of some of the most basic things the Earth has to offer: rocks and crayons. The first step is to go out and find some rocks (what kid wouldn’t want to do that?!). Next, wash your rocks, then bake them at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes. Remove the hot rocks (ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED), and set them out on several layers on newspaper. Drop bits of crayon on the hot rocks (more adult supervision required…) and they’ll melt immediately. Create a rainbow of colors on one rock with multiple crayons.
