1. Massage With Almond Oil
First of all, let me say that almond oil actually comes in two types – bitter and sweet. The bitter kind is used in aromatherapy and should never be used on the skin. Therefore, for this treatment you’ll want to use sweet almond oil. Take a few drops and gently massage it into the skin. Leave it overnight as you sleep, then wash it off in the morning. If you do this every night before going to bed you will start to notice your circles disappearing.
2. Green Tea Bags
For this remedy, take some tea bags and dip them in water, then put them in the refrigerator for a while. Once they’re cold, remove them from the fridge, then place them over your eyes and leave them for about 15 minutes. Once you’re done, wash your face and your eyes should already feel refreshed. You can actually do this daily and if you do, you’ll notice a great amount of improvement. The reason this works is because dark circles are caused by dilation of blood vessels under the eyes. The green tea helps reduce the dilation, and as a result, reduces the dark circles.
3. Ice Cubes
If you’re blood vessels are dilating under your eyes, it is most likely making them enlarged and probably causing puffiness under your eyes as well as dark circles. To help reduce the puffiness and darkness, place several ice cubes in a towel then place them under your eyes for about 10 minutes. Do this a few times a week to see an improvement.
4. Orange Juice
I know you’re probably thinking that using orange juice under your eyes sounds crazy, but it really helps. It’s a great source of vitamin C, which is a nutrient known to conceal dark coloration. To use these remedy, take about a teaspoon of orange juice and a few drops of glycerin, mix them together then apply it under your eyes. Let it stay for about 10 minutes, then wash your face off with cold water. Do this every morning, at least 3 times a week, and you’ll start to see those dark circles disappearing.
5. Mint Leaves
Another way to use vitamin C to help treat your dark circles, is to use mint leaves on your eyes. Crush up some mint leaves, then mix them with a little bit of water until you get a smooth paste. Use this paste under your eyes and let it sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse off with cold water. The vitamin C in the leaves will help to treat the dark circles and will actually improve your skin health.
6. Potatoes
If you thought orange juice was weird, you’re not going to believe me when I say that potatoes work great for treating dark under eye circles, as well. Take a raw potato, grate it, then extract the juice from it. Soak a few cotton balls in the juice, then place them under your eyes for about 10-15 minutes. Once you’re done wash your face with cold water. Doing this at least once or twice a day for a few weeks will really improve your under eyes because potatoes are full on enzymes, starch, and vitamin C, which all help with dark circles and actually nourish the skin.
7. Cucumber
Now, I know that using cucumbers on your eyes is no surprise. We’ve all seen women in the movies use this remedy, but have we ever tried it ourselves? All you need is a few slices of cucumber, then place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to get them nice and cold. Take two slices, then place them on the eyes, making sure to cover the affected area completely. Let them sit for about 10 minutes, then wash your face. The cucumbers are rich in antioxidants that help treat dark under eye circles and if you do this regularly you’ll certainly see a difference.
