7. Owl Napkin Rings
Ok, any craft project that is dual purpose gets a gold star in my book. It’s one thing to make a cute animal craft that kids enjoy, but if you make one that can be used for another purpose, I admire your resourcefulness! Not only are owls fun to create, they are a wonderful animal to use for fall decor. So instead of using those traditional wood napkin rings this year, make these owl napkin rings that the kids can show off to all your house guests!
If you stop by My Creative Life, you’ll find everything you need for this project.

8. Marionette Giraffes
You typically see giraffe crafts in standard brown & yellow colors with basic designs. But this DIY project helps you see giraffes in a new light. Err…color. With a handful of materials, you can turn an empty toilet paper roll into a set of marionette giraffes that your kids can use to put on a puppet show. Lights, camera, action!
Red Ted Art has the full tutorial on making these unique puppets.

9. Paper Chain Snake
I’m not sure if snakes are technically zoo animals, but since I’ve seen them slithering around at the zoo before, I’m going to say that yes, they are. Plus, I really want to share this craft idea with you! I remember making chain crafts when I was kid. (Mostly garland for hanging on the Christmas tree.) This one is so easy to do, and you can use it as an opportunity to work on colors, shapes and counting. When craft projects become educational, everybody wins!
